Hi again! I was just reading my last blog post and it made me laugh. Nope, I had even less time this time around. No projects to show off :)
I wanted to blog about Maya's first week at day care since I don't have time to email all my wonderful friends who have been asking me how it went.
It was hard. Very hard. Maya's unmedicated birth was easy compared to last week. Our first day of day care was Monday. Maya's teacher was out and so was the substitute. We had a substitute of a substitute. Not an ideal start, at all. Poor Maya cried a lot. And I was a mess. I did visit (Maya's day care is about half a mile from my office) and that made both Maya and me feel better. I also left work early, too.
The good news is that every day Maya did better and better. By Thursday she was fine and literally (hi, Dad :)) smiled at Ms. Janelle every time Ms. Janelle held her. Next week Ms. Ayanna, her permanent teacher, should be back, so I'm hoping things continue to go well. Ms. Janelle will continue working with Maya, too. Hopefully, I'll do better next week, too. :)
I really appreciate the phone calls a
nd the support that came my way this week. Thank you!On a happy note, both Eliana and Maya are doing great. Eliana continues to be a loving sister and runs to get Maya her toys whenever Maya cries. Eliana is so happy at her school and loves her classmates. Maya smiles all the time and is learning to sit up and roll around.
