Things are going well this weekend. Tim and I keep readjusting our schedule to try to make things go more smoothly on Shabbat. This weekend Tim took Eliana to "Groups" at Chabbad. "Groups" are a free activity for young kids to attend while parents go to Shul. Eliana had a GREAT time! And I had a quiet house for a couple of hours. :) I spent it too tired to move, but I was glad that everyone came home in a great mood.
Today I took Eliana to the grocery store. She did the usual, grabbing the cart and running off, etc. I'd go running after her and explain why she should leave the cart alone. We must have looked hysterical. At the end of our trip, a guy went WHIZZING past us. Eliana yelled after him, "That's Dangerous!!!!" The people in the store near us could not stop laughing. Of course, the guy never even heard her!
Have a great week!

"Housework done incorrectly still blesses your family"
We're having quite a week. Everyone in our family is sick with fever, body aches, runny noses, etc. It's no fun being sick while trying to take care of your sick children.
Today I decided to quickly wash the kitchen floor. Feeling yucky, I remembered flylady's mantra, "Housework done incorrectly still blesses your family." (http://www.flylady.net/) Isn't that the best quote ever?? I kept saying it to myself as I washed that floor quick as could be, not worrying about getting up every little spot. Let me tell you, the floor sure looks nice and I'm not collapsing :) Works for me!
Happy Chanukah!!

Dairy!
Hello friends and family!
Thanksgiving was fun. We went to the Smithsonian American Art Museum via Metro. We had a blast. Eliana loved riding the trains. There was a neat exhibit for kids called "Invention at Play" - http://americanhistory.si.edu/exhibitions/exhibition.cfm?key=38&exkey=92
While we were at the Exhibit, a little girl pointed to Eliana and said her name. I was a little surprised, to say the least. It turns out the little girl (she was adorable!) was in Eliana's class this past summer. The two toddlers played together and we had fun chatting with her parents.
Onto some great news. It seems Maya MAY have gotten over her intolerance to dairy. Maya has an intolerance to dairy and soy. That means that if I eat dairy or soy and it gets in her milk, she's in a lot of pain. I therefore have not had diary since we discovered this problem SIX months ago, yes SIX months without cheese, pizza, butter, ice cream, you got it.
Since this was a long weekend, I decided it was time to see if Maya still had her allergies. I found out that she's still very sensitive to soy. However, I ate Pasta with Cheese (!) one night for dinner. And Maya was fine!!!! Today I went nuts. I bought Ice Cream Sandwiches from Trader Joe's and demolished one in two minutes flat. I am dreaming of lasagna . . .
Here are some recent pictures of the girls.

Hi again! I was just reading my last blog post and it made me laugh. Nope, I had even less time this time around. No projects to show off :)
I wanted to blog about Maya's first week at day care since I don't have time to email all my wonderful friends who have been asking me how it went.
It was hard. Very hard. Maya's unmedicated birth was easy compared to last week. Our first day of day care was Monday. Maya's teacher was out and so was the substitute. We had a substitute of a substitute. Not an ideal start, at all. Poor Maya cried a lot. And I was a mess. I did visit (Maya's day care is about half a mile from my office) and that made both Maya and me feel better. I also left work early, too.
The good news is that every day Maya did better and better. By Thursday she was fine and literally (hi, Dad :)) smiled at Ms. Janelle every time Ms. Janelle held her. Next week Ms. Ayanna, her permanent teacher, should be back, so I'm hoping things continue to go well. Ms. Janelle will continue working with Maya, too. Hopefully, I'll do better next week, too. :)
I really appreciate the phone calls a
nd the support that came my way this week. Thank you!On a happy note, both Eliana and Maya are doing great. Eliana continues to be a loving sister and runs to get Maya her toys whenever Maya cries. Eliana is so happy at her school and loves her classmates. Maya smiles all the time and is learning to sit up and roll around.

We have a new addition to our family! Maya Sophia, born April 8th at 2:24 a.m.
Everyone is doing great. Eliana is enjoying her role as an older sister. She likes to kiss Maya and is fascinated by her. Mom and Dad are doing well on just a little bit of sleep.
The time is racing by. I'm trying to enjoy every minute with Maya since I now know first-hand how quickly babies grow up. It's fun to be a second-time Mom since I know a little bit more this time around. I'm hoping to have more time to squeeze in my hobbies during my time off. Hopefully, you'll be seeing lots of projects on this bl
